What is this plogon

FFXIV is full of people you’d genuinely click with - a raid buddy, a roleplay partner, someone to chat with at 2am, maybe something more. The hard part has always been finding them.
Right now your options are rough: stand around a venue hoping someone says hi, drop a “casual RP, maybe more” in Party Finder and wait, or shout into Limsa /yell. And every one of them means handing your character name to total strangers before you know a thing about them.
AetherLove fixes that. Build a profile, say what you’re looking for, and get matched - right inside the game. No alt-tabbing, no sketchy websites, no spreadsheets, and your name stays yours until you decide to share it.

Call yourself Bob, Highwind, or whatever you like. Your real character name, home world, and Lodestone ID never show - you reveal who you really are only when you’re ready, and only to who you choose.

We take your privacy seriously. Every message is locked on your device and only unlocked on your match’s - so no one else can read it, not even AetherLove staff. What you two say stays between the two of you.
SFW or NSFW - your call
Both are first-class here, and honestly both are a blast. It’s entirely your choice: NSFW is opt-in and off by default, so anyone who’d rather keep things clean is simply never confronted with adult content. And whatever you pick, every profile and photo stays screened by automated tools and real human moderators.

Install AetherLove in four steps
AetherLove ships as a Dalamud plugin. Add the custom repository, install, and you’re matching - all inside the game.

Run the game through XIVLauncher
AetherLove runs on Dalamud, loaded by the community XIVLauncher. If you already use plugins, skip ahead.

Add the custom repository
Open Dalamud settings with /xlsettings, go to the Experimental tab then Custom Plugin Repositories. Paste the URL above, press +, then Save.

Install the plugin
Open the installer with /xlplugins, search AetherLove, and click Install.

Open it & set up your profile
Type /love, sign in with XIVAuth, build your profile, choose what you’re looking for, and start matching.
AI & your data
Your pictures and artwork, handled with care.
AetherLove uses paid enterprise APIs from OpenAI. Under that enterprise agreement, anything we send is covered by a strict data policy: your content is never used to train OpenAI's models. That is a contractual guarantee, not a toggle we flipped or a promise we made up.
We use AI for one purpose only: moderation. When a photo or piece of artwork is uploaded, automated tools score and gauge a handful of factors - is the image safe, does it match the content rating that was selected, and does it stay within our rules. Anything questionable gets flagged for a human moderator to make the final call.

Questions, answered
Who are you, and are you an Italian vibecoder?
We're Astraea & Nihal, and no, we're not Italian, so the "Italian vibecoder" label doesn't quite land. I'm a software engineer with many years of experience, and yes, I use AI tooling like any modern developer does, but the code is written, reviewed, and tested by me, not blindly shipped.
I've been around in the FFXIV development scene for a while, but other than a certain sync plugin, I've never released anything to the public. Everything we do with AI is laid out in our AI declaration, written to meet the requirements for Dalamud first-party plugins: AI-DECLARATION.md.
Does the app track your location, personal details, or login details?
No. AetherLove doesn't track your in-game position or your real-life location, and it doesn't need either to work. You also never hand us your Square Enix login: sign-in goes through XIVAuth, an authorization system made by KazWolfe who's part of the core Dalamud team. You can trust him. So, your password and login details never touch the plugin.
We identify you only by your Lodestone ID, which is what lets us confirm it's really you. We need this to be able to moderate the plugin efficiently! Also, our plugin is fully open source and updates automatically when a new version ships, and you can read every line here: github.com/FFXIV-Aetherlove/Aetherlove.
Are you the developers of 69inder, the previous "Tinder" for FFXIV that had its data leaked?
No. Absolutely not. Neither Nihal nor myself have been involved with any similar service.
I can see server stats on the Discord. Does that mean my swipes and matches are public? Can staff see them?
The stats on the Discord are aggregate numbers only: totals and trends, never anyone's individual swipes or matches. For moderation, staff can see your profile, your photos, and activity such as your swipe counts.
What staff cannot do is read your messages: all chats are end-to-end encrypted, so even we couldn't see them if we wanted to. Your photos aren't public either. They're only shown inside the app to other players in the deck, never on a website and never to anyone outside AetherLove.
What's the policy on underage-looking characters? Some people have run into questionable petite characters.
We have zero tolerance for NSFW content involving Lalafell characters. It is not allowed, full stop.
For petite, shortstack, or younger-looking characters more generally, we judge case by case: every profile and picture is different, so a single hard line isn't realistic. These calls are never made alone. We always have at least two moderators active, and borderline cases are discussed internally before any decision is made.
Will there be a mobile version or a web version, please please please?
This directly defeats the purpose of this plugin. We want people to meet to make meaningful memories together in the game we all love. We have no plans to create a web version, a desktop version, or a mobile version of this plugin.
Any place offering this kind of service and/or promise is bad news, and is most likely a security risk.

Terms of Service
These are the same terms you agree to in-game when you create a profile. By using AetherLove, you accept them.
Content ratings: SFW, NSFW & NSFL
Every image and message on AetherLove falls into one of these. NSFW is opt-in and off by default. NSFL is never allowed.
SFW
Safe for work
No nudity or sexual themes. Rule of thumb: if you'd be comfortable showing it to a manager or colleague, it's SFW. Your avatar and main profile picture must always be SFW.
NSFW
Not safe for work
Nudity or sexual / suggestive themes. Off by default and always blurred until you choose to reveal it. Extra profile photos may be NSFW when marked as such, your main picture may not. Not available to Lalafell characters.
NSFL
Not suitable for life
Gore, death, graphic violence, mutilation, serious injury, animal cruelty, self-harm, or anything meant to shock or sicken - in any image or message. Never permitted, regardless of an SFW or NSFW marking. Zero tolerance: an immediate, permanent ban with no warning and no appeal.

Age & consent
AetherLove is a social matchmaking plugin for Final Fantasy XIV intended for adult users. By continuing, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and consent to participate in an adult social platform.

Your profile
You understand that profile information you provide - including your display name, bio, home server, character details, and any photos you upload - may be visible to other AetherLove users. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for ensuring that any photos you upload are appropriate and that you have the right to share them.

Character ownership
The characters shown in any photos you upload must be your own. If another player's character appears in an image, you confirm that you have that player's permission to share it. You will not upload screenshots or poses of characters that are not yours without the owner's consent.

Respectful conduct
You agree to interact respectfully with all other users. Harassment, unsolicited explicit content, hate speech, or any form of abuse toward other users is strictly prohibited. Violation of these terms may result in removal from the platform without notice or appeal.

No NSFL content
NSFL ("Not Suitable For Life") content is never permitted on AetherLove under any circumstances. This includes any image or message depicting real or simulated gore, death, graphic violence, mutilation, serious injury, animal cruelty, or self-harm, along with any other shocking or sickening material. This is entirely separate from the NSFW opt-in: marking something NSFW never makes NSFL content acceptable. We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy. Posting NSFL content results in an immediate and permanent account ban, issued without warning and with no right to appeal.

It is provided as-is, with no guarantees of availability, data security, or fitness for any purpose. The plugin developers are not responsible for the actions of other users or for any consequences arising from use of this plugin.

Moderation
Moderation decisions - including warnings, temporary suspensions, and permanent bans - are made at the sole discretion of the AetherLove staff. Staff have the final say in all moderation matters. Decisions need not be explained or justified to the affected user, and are not subject to appeal unless explicitly stated otherwise by staff.

Lalafell policy
We love and enjoy Lalafell characters as much as anyone, but adult and NSFW features are not available to players whose character race is Lalafell. Because Lalafells are child-like in appearance, we make no case-by-case distinction and apply this policy uniformly to every Lalafell account. The 18+ Roleplaying option, the NSFW opt-in, and NSFW photo uploads are all disabled while your race is set to Lalafell. Attempting to bypass this restriction is grounds for account removal.

AI-assisted moderation
Your profile text and profile images are automatically reviewed using OpenAI's moderation APIs to help detect content that breaks these rules and keep AetherLove safe for everyone. Your profile images are also assessed by an additional OpenAI model - both for whether they follow AetherLove's image rules (depicting your own Final Fantasy XIV character, not fan art, AI-generated images, or unrelated content) and for whether they are SFW or NSFW. Your profile text and images are sent to OpenAI for moderation only and are never used to train OpenAI's models. Every final moderation decision is made by AetherLove's human staff - AI alone is never responsible for a moderation action.

Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of AetherLove after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
